For Bendigo couple Jess, who works with the local water authority, and Jarrod, a disability carer, their first home had served them well. But with three kids and the same number of bedrooms, it was starting to feel a little tight.
The family wanted more space while staying close to the community they loved - the same schools Jess had attended as a child, and close to family support. “We initially thought building would be too stressful and complicated, so we were looking at existing homes,” Jess recalls. “But nothing we saw really sparked joy.”
That changed the moment they stepped into HomeSolution by Metricon’s Seaton 28 display home. “We fell in love with the space straight away,” Jess says. “The layout, the flow, the functionality - it was exactly what we needed.”

Falling in love with the Seaton 28
The home offered everything the family was looking for: four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a double garage, and a huge open-plan living area. With twin daughters who had never had their own rooms, Jess and Jarrod finally had a floorplan that allowed everyone their own space - including a practical study for working from home.
“The display home made it so easy for the kids to visualise their bedrooms,” Jess adds. “They were so excited; they even wanted our sales consultant to come and live with us!”

Tailored for family life
While they loved the Seaton 28 as it was, Metricon helped them tweak a few details to suit their family perfectly. “With three kids, having only one bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe wasn’t going to work,” Jess explains. “Metricon quickly adjusted the plan so our youngest had a standard wardrobe and we added a linen closet in the hallway.”
Practical storage was a key consideration. “Everything has its place, so even with kids’ toys and belongings, the house stays neat and organised,” she says.

A smooth build from start to finish
Their new home sits in a quiet pocket of Imagine Estate in Strathfieldsaye - though with three kids and all the neighbourhood children around, it’s far from quiet these days. The family enjoy watching the community grow, with new homes and kids playing nearby adding a sense of connection.
The build itself was smooth and surprisingly quick. “We broke ground in mid-October and were in by the end of March,” Jess says. “From the first meeting to handover, the process was clear and stress-free. Everyone was so responsive, and no question was too small.”

A home built for living
Now settled in, Jess and Jarrod couldn’t be happier. “The Seaton 28 gives us the space we needed, with a practical, functional layout that works perfectly for our family,” Jess says. “The kids love it, we love it, and the process was just so smooth - we’d absolutely recommend HomeSolution by Metricon to anyone.”
