Read what our customers have to say about building their dream home with Metricon.

Pankhi & Ani

When Pankhi and Ani first moved to Australia from India, they had enough to focus on - settling into a new country and adjusting to life in Melbourne. With so many changes happening at once, choosing the right home was a task that felt daunting. With limited time and energy to devote to every detail, they opted for Metricon’s HomeSolution offering. It was the perfect solution for the couple, who were looking for a practical and efficient way to make their new life in Australia feel more complete.

But now, fully settled in and with a clearer vision for their growing family, Pankhi and Ani returned to Metricon for something more tailored. The couple decided to rent out their first home and build a spacious Vantage 48 with a Wembley façade in Werribee - perfect for their growing family.

Jack & Natasha

Jack Scanlon, a carpenter, and his partner Natasha Murphy, a hairdresser, embarked on their homeownership journey by building their first Metricon home, a Sullivan 17A, in Lancefield, Victoria. Remarkably, Jack handed over the deposit just a day before his 21st birthday. However, with both of them hailing from Gisborne, they harboured a strong desire to return to their roots and be closer to their families.

Their positive experience with Metricon's exceptional customer service and the high-quality construction of their first home left a lasting impression. Consequently, when the time came to plan for their future and upsize, they didn't hesitate to return to Metricon, just over three years later.

Rose and Joe

When Metricon customers Rose and Joe first bought their holiday home in the late '90s, nestled in the azure sweep of Nelson Bay in New South Wales, they knew it needed some love. Abandoning the idea of renovating in 2019, they turned to Metricon's KnockDown ReBuild process, transforming their 500-square metre block into a dream dual occupancy home.

Opting for the Sutherland design with coastal-inspired Yale façade, they now cherish their beautiful holiday home, fittingly named 'Onda', renting out one half on Airbnb when they're not using it, and the other to tenants.

Pope Family

Just a short stroll from the beach in Melbourne’s picturesque bayside suburb of Edithvale, life is sweet for the Pope family. It’s the perfect setting for Jane, a part-time retail worker, her husband Matt, who works in the construction industry, and their two children, Jack and Kiana, along with their Jack Russell, Cookie. When Jane’s father passed away in 2021, she knew her mother, Trish, wouldn’t want to stay up there alone. Trish needed a new arrangement, and Jane was determined to keep her close. With Matt’s full support, they invited her to move in. The only challenge? Their home was bursting at the seams, but they weren’t ready to give up their ideal location.

Fortunately, one of their neighbours happened to work for Metricon and introduced them to the KnockDown ReBuild option. This approach allowed them to keep the block they loved, demolish the existing house that no longer suited their needs, and build a brand-new home tailored to their family’s lifestyle.

Keyur & Beejal

When IT professional Keyur and his wife Beejal first got in touch with Metricon, they were looking for a fresh start after frustrating experiences in property investment.

Now, after successfully completing not just one but two DualOcc by Metricon developments, they’ve found a strategy that truly works for them. “From planning to permits to construction, Metricon’s teams are on top of their game. The site managers are so talented and keep you fully updated throughout the journey,” Keyur says.

Renee & Ilias

For Doncaster couple Renee and Ilias Patsiaouras - the creative duo behind Olive and Thyme Catering - home is just as important as the food they create. “We love where we live - the location is fantastic, and we’re on a great corner block,” Renee shares. “But our charming ‘60s weatherboard cottage, which we called home for 14 years, was really poorly positioned on the block. We didn’t have much usable space due to the orientation, and with only one bathroom, no ensuite, and no second living area, it just wasn’t meeting our needs anymore.”

On a friend’s recommendation, Renee and Ilias turned to Metricon’s KnockDown ReBuild option - a perfect solution that allowed them to stay on the block they loved while creating a larger, more personalised home that suited their needs and style.

    Liv & Jordan

Liv and Jordan are not your average early-twenty-somethings. They’ve set the bar high on what’s possible for first home buyers, building their first home from scratch in a new estate at Ascot, in Bendigo’s northeast.

Liv and Jordan had a very clear vision about what they wanted from their first home – it had to be a home that would not only be right today, but would also support a young family down the track. “There’s only two of us, and it’s a big house, but it’s built to grow with us,” says Liv.

When asked why they chose Metricon for their new build, Liv explains that the decision came after visiting display homes. “I fell in love with two of the Metricon displays, and came home and said, “Can we build with Metricon?”, and that was it.”

    Mehdi & Elmira

Mehdi and Elmira, two academics living in Avondale Heights, partnered with Metricon to knock down their ageing home and build a stylish dual occupancy - creating a beautiful new place to live and a smart investment property next door. With thoughtful features like a ground-floor bedroom and picture-perfect views of the city, the couple tailored their home to suit both their lifestyle and long-term goals.

Now enjoying the comfort of their new space - and the peace of mind that comes with rental income - they’re thrilled to have made the leap with Metricon.

    Marion

Marion Kaz P. Alayon’s journey to homeownership in Australia is one of resilience, family support, and a whole lot of hard work. Originally from the Philippines, Marion moved to Australia in 2017 in search of greener pastures in the field of nursing. In 2025, he made the move to Ballarat to be closer to Melbourne - and to continue growing his career in healthcare.

With guidance from his family, especially his uncle, Marion decided to build with Metricon. He chose the Amira 25S in the Freedom by Metricon range, a four-bedroom, two-bathroom design with a Kingston façade - perfect for his current needs and any future plans.

    Maddison

When event planner and pub manager Maddison Flannigan relocated from Chirnside Park, a north-eastern suburb of Melbourne, to the picturesque Echuca-Moama region in 2020 to escape the constraints of lockdowns, she couldn’t have imagined how much her life would change in just a few years. It was that same year she first reached out to Metricon. “At that stage, I had no idea what I wanted. I was exploring both house and land packages and established homes, trying to figure out whether it was easier to build or buy.” Maddison recalls.

Four years later, as Maddison recently celebrated her 30th birthday, she’s marking a major milestone - her first-ever home build as Metricon’s 14,000th customer in Regional Victoria.

    Ivy and Waiy

After relocating from Hong Kong to Australia five years ago, Ivy and her husband Waiy navigated COVID lockdowns to find the ideal piece of land in Mount Waverley. Unable to secure the perfect block, they opted for a KnockDown ReBuild with Metricon to transform an older property into their dream home with the spacious Franklin design.

“My goal was to build a home that fit like a dream,” she says. “We lived in an apartment in Hong Kong for so long, and when we moved to Brisbane, the kids really loved having a house. That’s why we chose the Franklin design. It was the biggest house we could put on this land."

    Bek & Ryan

After toying with numerous ideas for their first home, newly married couple Bek and Ryan, who met while working at the RSPCA, set about their first dual occupancy development thanks to some sound advice from a family member who’d built and sold numerous properties before. It was a decision that paid off for the newlyweds, with one home sold and the other a place they’re proud to call home.

“We feel incredibly lucky that we’ve been able to achieve two goals with our first dual occ development: a beautiful home of our own to live in and another that sold for our full asking price, delivering a great return on our investment.”

    Rahbee & Rubaiya

After moving to Sydney from Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2017, software engineer Rahbee and his wife Rubaiya, a PhD student, spent several years living in an apartment before their life plans, which included starting a family, called for a larger home.

“While we loved our apartment in Sydney, we knew it was time to upgrade to a bigger home with a larger backyard, among other things, to accommodate our lifestyle and the arrival of our son, Daniel.” While juggling work-from-home commitments, the arrival of their son Daniel and world events, Rahbee and Rubaiya were still able to see their dream home – a Leonard with Hampton-inspired façade – come to life in a new estate in Leppington, New South Wales.

    Kamran & Aneela

Balancing work and family life can be a real challenge, especially when you're managing your own business and caring for a young family. Kamran Ahmed, a father of three, was determined to carve out more time to spend with his family. Despite living in Morwell and commuting daily to Drouin, where he owns a United Petrol station, Kamran realised he could reclaim precious hours by relocating closer to his business.

Rather than settling for an existing property in Drouin, Kamran and his wife Aneela were impressed by the Metricon display homes in both Drouin and Traralgon. They were convinced that building a brand-new home was the best choice after seeing the quality and options available.

    Dylan

Sometimes life has a way of diverting us from the path we originally envisioned. Dylan Nuske, a yard supervisor at local company Yarrabe and Castlemaine Stone, faced this reality. Initially, he had set out to construct his ideal Metricon home alongside his partner. However, when personal circumstances took an unexpected turn, his plans underwent a significant transformation.

Despite the challenges, Dylan made the resolute choice to move forward. He recognised the importance of entering the property market as soon as possible, aiming to secure his place before he was squeezed out. Undeterred, he remained committed to his original vision of building the four-bedroom Delta on his 900sqm block.

    Yvette

For Yvette and her two boys, being by the beach in Adelaide’s northwest was exactly where they were meant to be.

While they were rapidly outgrowing their current house, the everchanging real estate market and rising house prices in the area had Yvette concerned that she may need to move from the location that she had grown to love so much.

“It was a stressful time. It was breaking my heart to think that we would potentially have to leave the area. My boys and I had developed great relationships with our neighbours, the beach was 300m away, their school was close and there was a park at the end of the street. We loved it there.”

So, Yvette made the call that would ultimately start her journey with Metricon – to knock down their current home and build new.

    Sonia & Su

Twentysomething nurse and first-time home-buyer Sonia set herself a goal to “achieve something great” in the form of an investment property and retirement home for her Mother, Su.

Spurred on by numerous road trips to Lake Macquarie and a timely visit to a Metricon display home, Sonia and Su are now happily immersed in the Studio M experience as they look forward to seeing their dream home come to life in “clean and beautiful” Morisset Park, NSW.

    Robyn & Shane

From kangaroos in the backyard to watching her children enjoy the wide open spaces, Metricon customer Robyn Eames and her husband Shane didn’t think twice about building their dream home in Axe Creek, a quaint community a stone’s throw from Bendigo.

"As soon as we saw the Davenport 34 floorplan, we knew we could stop our search. It was almost as though this home had been designed entirely with our family in mind."

With the finishing touches on their Davenport 34 now complete, Robyn was only too happy to show a bit of country hospitality and share what she and her family love most about their new home and the surrounding area.
