1. First Home Owner Grant (FHOG)
You could receive $30,000 if you’re buying or building a brand new home, including a townhouse, off-the-plan home or a granny flat, valued under $750,000. This applies to contracts signed between 20 November 2023 and 30 June 2026. You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and meet other eligibility criteria set by the Queensland Government.
2. First Home Concession (Stamp Duty Concession)
As of May 1, 2025, if you are buying a brand-new home or vacant land to build on, you now receive a full exemption (zero stamp duty), regardless of the price cap, as long as it's your first home.
3. Boost to Buy Scheme
This shared equity scheme from the Queensland Government provides up to a 30% contribution toward the purchase of new builds, helping to reduce your home loan and repayments. You’ll need to live in the home and meet income thresholds.
4. 5% Deposit Scheme
Also known as the First Home Guarantee, this federal scheme helps you buy your home with just a 5% deposit and no Lenders Mortgage Insurance. You’ll need to live in the home and apply through a participating lender.
5. Help to Buy Scheme
Another shared equity scheme where the Australian Government contributes up to 40% for new homes. You’ll still need to qualify for a home loan and meet income and property price limits.
6. First Home Super Saver Scheme (FHSS)
You can use up to $50,000 of voluntary super contributions towards your deposit. It’s a way to grow your savings faster, thanks to the lower tax rate within super.
